Activation it's automatic and it'll take not more than 5 minutes.
Regarding VAC security we currently have 2 options, one with driver and one without; at the moment they are both secure, though its preferred staying on 32 bit systems.

Activation doesn't even take 5 mins, more like 5 secs.
Also dualboot to 32bit to use SecurEye or whatever it's called.
