Cheating and not getting caught

When I used to cheat I would do a whole thing where I used a new hard drive and only signed into my accounts I cheated with on there and not my main when injecting cheats. I was just wondering if I was being too cautious or if you are able to cheat with the same hard drive and not get VAC banned.

You can cheat with the same hard drive and not get banned. VAC bans by account and not by HWID, same with overwatch.
